Prime Minister Imran Khan has launched Zindagi App – a mobile application with information on drug control. According to details, the application will carry all necessary information about narcotics and drug control.
Speaking at the launch event in Islamabad, PM Khan said that drugs are destroying the country’s youth. “There was a time when we heard there were drugs in universities. Now drugs are present in schools,” the prime minister noted.
“The most vulnerable section of our society – our children – are being exposed to drugs, when they don’t have the maturity to deal with the issue.”
He added that since protecting the youth from the menace of drugs and narcotics is among the top priorities of the present government, this application will prove to be a stepping stone towards achieving the target.
Prime Minister Imran said the second issue afflicting the citizens is that of child abuse. “People don’t like talking about this issue due to shame but our government’s investigation has shown that it is an epidemic
He announced that the government will take the initiative to control both issues but stressed the need for public support in this regard.
He said that ‘Zindagi app’ is a step forward in this direction as it will raise awareness among parents and teachers on how to tackle the issue.
The application is available on both Google Play and Apple’s App Store.
