It was one of the most requested features by Vivid customers: Cash deposits. Now, together with its partner viafintech, Vivid makes this possible at more than 12,500 acceptance points in Germany.
Thanks to the cooperation with the Berlin-based company viafintech, part of the leading specialised payment platform Paysafe, Vivid customers can top up their Vivid account together with their purchase at a supermarket, drugstore, hardware store or gas station. Participating stores include Rewe, Penny, dm, Rossman, mobilcom-debitel, toom, Unternehmensgruppe Dr. Eckert (which includes various newspaper stores and DB ServiceStores), OMV Tankstelle, Budni and Q1 gas stations.
Vivid customers pay a fee of 2.5 percent of the deposited amount. Vivid Prime users can top-up their account with cash up to 200 euros per month free of charge. After that, 1.5 percent of the deposited money is due. A minimum of 50 euros must be deposited per top-up. A maximum of 999.99 euros can be transferred to the account at one time and within 24 hours.
To deposit cash, Vivid customers use the top-up function in the Vivid app as usual and enter the desired top-up amount. In addition to the existing top-up options via Mastercard and Visa, Apple Pay and Google Pay, as well as Open Banking, cash deposits can now be selected. This involves generating a barcode on the smartphone, scanning at the checkout of participating stores and then paying in cash. The deposit can be paid with the regular purchase but is also possible independently of a shopping trip. There is no minimum purchase amount. The deposited sum appears directly in the Vivid account in a few minutes and customers can access the money immediately.
