SadaPay, a fintech challenger launching in Pakistan has announced a new exclusive partnership with Mastercard. Pakistan is the 5th most populous country in the world, where 87% of 220 million people remain unbanked, but about 1 million smartphones are coming online every month. SadaPay will enable customers to conduct seamless, faster and safer domestic and cross-border transactions by using SadaPay e-wallets.
SadaPay is a new entrant in the Pakistani market that has recently obtained an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from the State Bank of Pakistan. SadaPay will not only utilize Mastercard’s innovative capabilities for card issuance, but also use them as a payment processing platform, thereby reinforcing Mastercard’s position as the go-to player in digital payments in the region. This close integration will ensure best-in-class payments experience for SadaPay users.
Furthermore, SadaPay is expected to issue over three million cards over the next five years, which will help serve a large segment of the country’s unbanked and underbanked population, with a special focus on solving payment pain points for freelancers and the self-employed, therefore helping to encourage financial inclusion and improve the country’s economic outlook.
