Otlob, announced its latest partnership with Visa,to encourage its customers to pay with their Visa cards instead of cash in light of the spread of COVID-19.
Forging a partnership with the digital payments leader, Visa, is a very important and efficient step as part of our initiatives to face the COVID-19 pandemic.
Consumers in Egypt are increasingly comfortable with digital payments, and the findings of our recent Stay Secure survey have shown that COVID-19 has reinforced Egyptians’ preference for digital payments over cash. In fact, more than 80% of consumers we surveyed said they will continue to opt more for paying online with card or digital wallet over COD.
Sofiène Marzouki, Otlob’s Managing Director, said: “We provide our customers the opportunity to replace paper money with the online payment method and avoid dealing directly with people according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization. This is expected to increase the number of customers that choose the online payment method in Egypt”.
Sofiène added, “The safety of our customers is a priority and we are continuously working to provide them with solutions that make their lives easier and safer. To increase convenience and safety for our customers, we have also added new verticals and offer a variety of deals and discounts from our wide range of partners.”
Malak El Baba, Visa’s Country Manager for Egypt, said: “ Knowing that every Visa transaction is protected by multi-layered security protocols only helps to increase that comfort and peace of mind. We are delighted to partner with Otlob to help them promote digital payments and hope this inspires other retailers to do the same especially during these unprecedented times.”
Otlob is offering its customers a 25% discount on their orders from different restaurants when they pay with eligible Visa cards, in addition, Otlob provides a monthly offer up to 50% discount for one-day to encourage usages to pay by VISA card online.
This promotion comes as one of the company’s initiatives that also include the ‘contactless delivery’ experience. Otlob has also added new verticals to its app such as the “Supermarket” service and the “Health and Beauty” vertical to help its customers order they need while staying safe at home.
