Committed to building resilient communications, Ooredoo recently participated in the Civil Defence and Ambulance Conference and Exhibition 2023, an annual event on measures designed to deal with emergency and crisis management situations. Ooredoo, in cooperation with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority, presented a paper focusing on the best international practices and application of technologies in Emergency Management. The topic of the presentation was aligned with the theme of the main event; the ‘Role of Technological Systems in Civil Protection and Defence Risk Assessment’.
Presenting a paper on the integration between crisis management frameworks, international standards, and best practices, as well as highlighting processes to reduce impact and shorten recovery times, Muneer Al Balushi, Department Head of Network Operation at Ooredoo, said, “Telecommunications plays an essential role when it comes to the effective response to any emergency, including natural disasters and public health crises. Our innovative services are designed to support emergency responders in making informed choices to boost emergency preparedness through technology and deliver services that support public safety. Recent challenges including the pandemic and Cyclone Shaheen have been key examples of how Ooredoo stepped up to the challenge and supported the national response by creating innovative services and products.”
Always focused on giving back to the community, Ooredoo’s participation in the event marks World Civil Defence Day to raise awareness about the importance of civil defense measures in protecting people from natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies.
