Government reduced the price of LNG by Rs129.68 to Rs1530.17 for 11.8/kg cylinder for the month of March a day after slashing the price of oil.
For the month of March, the producers’ price of LPG has been determined at Rs71164,84 per MT compared to Rs82,033.29 per MT ton in February. This price included excise duty of Rs85/ton, while excluding the petroleum levy. The decision was made a week after the LPG Distributors Association requested the government to take notice of an increase in the commodity’s price by around Rs50 per kg across the country due to suspension of its supply from Iran.
Pakistan imports around 1,000 metric tons of LPG from Iran every year. However, the supply of the commodity stands suspended following the closure of the border with the neighboring country over coronavirus fears.
