Karachi – 22, June 2020: The COVID-19 Live Webinar Series conducted by IGI Holdings saw one of its principal companies Vitality Group, South Africa co-hosting the session alongside IGI Life Vitality – Pakistan’s first active life insurance product that rewards its customers weekly, monthly and annually, while securing their future.
The webinar session was titled “Vitality Health Insurance – Shared Value Model Boasting Higher Return on Investment” and was held on the 11th of June 2020. It was conducted by Mr. Nomaan Bashir, Business Head for IGI Life Vitality in Pakistan. The panelists included Mr. Francis Bakos who is the Senior Vice President at Vitality Active, Mr. Tahir Masaud, the Head of Business and Operations at IGI Life Vitality, Ms. Leanne Joubert who is the Director of Product Development at Vitality Group, Mr. Ali Nadim, the Chief Operations Officer at IGI Life Vitality, Mr. Muhammad Wasif, a Fitness Influencer and Consultant, and lastly Ms. Terry Harris, the Head Dietitian at Discovery Vitality.
Mr. Francis Bakos provided an introduction to the Vitality Group, which now has more than 20 million customers in 20 plus markets worldwide. The Vitality program is recognized globally and its principle of shared value was discussed at length by Francis. He also stressed on the diseases of lifestyles where the healthcare wellness paradox was highlighted that results in 60% of all deaths that take place annually around the world.
Mr. Tahir Masaud introduced IGI Life Vitality and how it has been able to make a place of its own since its inception in January 2019. He also focused on the IGI brand and its ownership lineage-linked with the Packages Group – one of the most influential business houses in the country.
Ms. Leanne Joubert discussed Vitality’s relevance in a post-COVID-19 world. She highlighted the fact that in these changing and trying times, wellness and immunity will always be a central key while a new agenda for health ageing was also emphasized upon. She stressed on the need for making strides to shift online to reap the rewards that will come our way.
Mr. Ali Nadim explained how IGI Life Vitality has been able to enhance returns for its policyholders. He presented an industry vs. the IGI Life product comparison and touched upon the aspect of how Vitality fits in within the related equations.
Mr. Muhammad Wasif pointed out the problems that there are in terms of adapting a healthy lifestyle from a layman’s perspective. Later on, he also presented a few solutions which were in the form of increasing daily physical activity, indoor exercises, remaining hydrated, adequate sleep levels, and a good nutritional regime.
Ms. Terry Harris investigated how Vitality’s innovative approach towards health behavior change has been beneficial for world markets and there is no reason why this cannot be replicated within Pakistan. She highlighted the five wellness pillars as advocated by Vitality, which included physical activity, mental well-being, nutrition, screening and prevention, and avoiding smoking.
