Uber Eats has ended its operations in eight markets including Saudi Arabia and Egypt because they did not offer a clear route to becoming the number one or number two online food delivery operator.
“Uber Eats did not grow quickly enough in these markets and we don’t see them as a path to profitability”. this statement was said in the Gore-Coty’s email.
Careem, which is owned by Uber, will take over Uber Eats operations in the UAE, and already has its own food delivery aggregator, Careem Now which will take over operations.
Uber Eats has closed down a number of other markets including Honduras, Romania, Ukraine, and the Czech Republic.
