The Polish Agency for Enterprise Development has awarded a grant to Wrocław-based fintech PayEye, which is the world’s first to develop a full payment ecosystem based on iris biometrics. Nearly PLN 0.5 million, under the “Go to Brand” grant, will be allocated to the promotion of the Polish brand on foreign markets.
PayEye is a fintech from Wrocław, with global potential, which is already piloting pay with an eye payment in Wrocław, but in the next stages, the project will be available in Poland, Europe and the world. These plans fit perfectly with the objective of the “Go to brand” competition, which funds the promotion of product brands in foreign markets.
We chose the iris, because all research indicates that the iris, because of its uniqueness, is the safest biometric method of identifying a user. We are the first in the world, because in finance, and more specifically in payments, eye biometrics has not been used. We feel that we can become a Polish export brand that will be recognisable in the world. We have our own solution, which combines the achievements of science with state-of-the-art technology, so we have something to boast about. – says Krystian Kulczycki, CEO of PayEye.
The “Go to brand” competition, organized by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, is addressed to micro-, small and medium-sized enterprises. The funds are intended for financing the participation in fairs, exhibitions, economic missions and other additional promotional activities. PayEye wants to mark its presence at the most interesting undertakings in Europe, the United States, the United Arab Emirates and Singapore. The choice of markets is not accidental and was dictated by the significant demand in these countries for services related to modern methods of non-cash payment.
