The prominent Asian Business Review Magazine has recently recognised Ooredoo Oman for its transformative state-of-the-art data centre at the Middle East Technology Excellence Awards. Ooredoo won the award in the competitive Data Centre – Telecommunications category. Asian Business Review selected Ooredoo Oman from regional telecom companies for its holistic approach and commitment to digital transformation, innovation, connectivity and automation to provide excellent services. The award further cements Ooredoo’s position as a leader in digital transformation and customer experience.
Dr Ahmed Abdullah Al Abri, Chief Technology & Information Officer, said “Ooredoo’s primary focus includes its digital transformation. Investing in our network capabilities and efficient data centre facilities is an essential component of Ooredoo’s business strategy and is in line with the goals of Oman’s Vision 2040. In 2021, we inaugurated our flagship Data Centre in Muscat. The 7,000 sqm facility is a showcase of the company’s IT infrastructure, with a power capacity of 2.5 Megawatts and a guaranteed 99.98%+ uptime. In 2022, we also began building three new state-of-the-art data centres in Barka, Salalah and Sohar to support local businesses and communities with secure in-country hosting, recovery, and cloud services.”
