Committed to encouraging the Omani workforce to thrive and reach their full and upskilled potential, Ooredoo recently shortlisted six winning team-based projects submitted by participants in its Springboard and Spring Forward educational programmes. The Ooredoo Springboard programme provides training opportunities for Omani women across the country, while Spring Forward aims to support the professional development of both men and women.
The Springboard programme sessions were held at various women’s associations in the Wilayats of Bahla, Al Khaboura and Izki, as well at the Oman Bahjah Orphan Society. Meanwhile, Spring Forward saw training sessions conducted at the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, Ministry of Economy, Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, as well as the National University of Science and Technology in Muscat. Moreover, Ooredoo trained employees from different government entities in collaboration with the Omani Women’s Association in the Wilayat of Samail.
Group-based projects are a key component of both the Springboard and Spring Forward programmes and foster both entrepreneurship and collaboration. By working together towards a common goal, it enhances leadership and other skills to further boost their careers.
The following six winning group projects were evaluated and selected by the concerned committee: The Magwash Salon Project submitted by a team from the Omani Women’s Association in the Wilayat of Al-Khaboura; and the Integrated Gym Project completed by a team from the Omani Women’s Association in Izki. Also shortlisted was the Lifa Project submitted by a group from the Omani Women’s Association in Bahla and The Ajil project submitted by a team from the Oman Bahjah Orphan Society; as well as the Enaya project delivered by a team comprising civil servants from Muscat. Another winner was the Integrated Swimming Pool Project managed by civil servants in the Wilayat of Samail, as well as by members from the Omani Women’s Association in the same area.
Always focused on giving back to the community, the Ooredoo’s Springboard and Spring Forward programmes fall under the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Goodwill umbrella. Both CSR programmes are regarded as a benchmark for successful public-private sector collaboration. Ever since it launched these educational programmes several years ago, Ooredoo has provided professional development opportunities for nearly 10,000 Omani men and women. These initiatives have enabled participants to further build their skill sets, as the company works closely with industry leaders and licensed trainers to support the growth and development of individuals.
