Samsung Pay has announced that it now supports TransferWise debit cards in the UK.
The partnership allows customers to add their TransferWise debit Mastercard and debit Mastercard for Business to Samsung Pay as sources of funds. They can then use these cards to make purchases or send payments through Samsung’s mobile payments service.
Samsung Pay customers will be able to hold more than 50 currencies at once to use in more than 70 countries around the world, making it simpler and more secure to spend abroad. For business users, expenses can now be done on-the-move whether home or abroad.
“Our partnership with TransferWise will help Samsung customers get a great deal on currency exchange every time,” said James Bradbury, Head of Services at Samsung Electronics UK. “We are committed to providing Samsung customers with innovative, secure technologies to make life easier, and we are happy to be the first Samsung market in Europe to launch the partnership.”
“At TransferWise, we’re building the best way to move money around the world, so it’s great to be able to add Samsung to our partner list, and make our service even more accessible for both consumers and businesses,” said Lars Trunin, head of UK Product at TransferWise. “We believe moving money across borders should be faster, cheaper, more transparent and more convenient, and we hope Samsung users find that to be the case as of today.”
